• For participation a team of 2 people should be formulated. 
• Bring your own stationery. 
• Duration of competition- 2 hrs
• Use of mobile phones or internet during the competition is prohibited.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga: Film Review

by Vanshika Chaudhary Shelly Chopra Dhar’s Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga , written by Gazal Dhaliwal, is a traditional Bollywood rom-com with conventional characters, stereotypical humour, predictable chaos, and an anticipated happy ending, for its first half. The “progressive” part of the film only comes to light after half the film is over- Sahil finally learns the truth about Sweety. The audience witnesses an unanticipated movement from “normalcy” to non-normativity. An unconventional “siyappa” ensues, only to be “resolved” by some dramatic dialogues that are to be taken by the heart and not the mind. With Cassandra comes the “happy ending”- literally, it is by the ending minutes of the movie that we see any significant display of affection by the two women. Even though the film moves away from Bollywood’s bizarre depiction of queer characters, it does not really go anywhere in its proclaimed progressiveness- it is so restricted in its assertion that it defeats its own purpose. ...

Jaagriti'19: A short report

A Report on Student short-films and Intersectionality By Tonisha Roy Session 1: Student short films (Venue: Hall) Both the shortlisted student short films were given an introduction first by the team members who made it followed by the screening of the short film followed by a discussion on the same. This was then followed by the judge, Dr. Swati's comments on both the films leading to some questions from the audience which were answered by the makers of the films. Overall it was quite an enriching experience for the audience and the participants. The participants Aalia John and team on “what is Beauty and the beauty myth” talked about the yardsticks of beauty and how they they have been re-defined with time. Through their portrayal of advertisements and media, they aimed to bring to light how different women see beauty and it's impacts on how young women need to feel beautiful.
